Frequently asked questions
Does BeBrief send my data to any external LLM provider?
No. BeBrief runs LLM inference entirely within your own infrastructure. Your documents, embeddings, and generated answers are never sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, or any external API.
How does the trial work?
Install BeBrief to your Slack workspace and connect your Confluence instance. You get full access to all features for 14 days with up to 10 seats. No credit card required. At the end of the trial, the service pauses — your data is preserved.
Where does my data live?
BeBrief manages dedicated infrastructure per tenant built on open source components. Your data is stored on BeBrief-managed servers — not on any third-party cloud provider. Bring Your Own Storage support is on the roadmap for orgs that require full data residency control.
How are permissions enforced?
ACLs are attached to every indexed document. At query time, your user identity's permissions are resolved and used as a hard filter on the vector search. You cannot retrieve a document your identity is not permitted to access — even if you construct a direct API query.
What happens to restricted content?
Answers derived from restricted Confluence pages or private Slack channels are delivered as ephemeral Slack messages — visible only to the querying user, not stored in channel history. They're marked with a ✅ reaction to indicate permission-checked delivery.
When will Stripe billing be available?
